Welcome Back! + Intro to my Image Processing project
So its come to this, another blog post! I know I have been truant for a very long time but my mitching has been chastened by the burgeoning task of 7 more installments for my Image-processing assignment. To make a long story short, I was happy to oblige.
For my image-processing assignment I decided to make a show bible/pamphlet for the television programme I am writing called "Neuro-adversity". I began by making a funky 1960's-70's inspired cover for the book. The retro camp style of the booklet is highly indebted to the kitschy style of film director John Waters who I have mentioned on this blog before. I have become obsessed with his "trash" aesthetic and have incorporated a lot of it into my own work. It was also inspired by the artwork for Irish singer Roisin Murphy's latest album "Roisin Machine (check out my favourite song from it here)" which has a slightly classier but equally retro and chic cover. I used the font "Candice" which is also used on that cover too.
I also juxtaposed the fashionable pattern with an illustration of the typical disabled parking sign giving the middle finger to the audience. I used this image in particular because I felt it captured the anarchic, darkly witty spirit of the script perfectly, as the series aims to de-stigmatize physical and mental disabilities using a mixture comprised of satirical humour and soapy drama.
In conclusion, its been a busy week and I hope as we continue this journey together I can create a masterpiece!
